A growing construction technology company is seeking a Territory Sales Manager to develop a new sales territory in North Texas and Oklahoma to introduce innovative equipment solutions to the heavy construction market. 

This is a true territory development and new business development role. Rather than inheriting an established book of accounts, the Territory Sales Manager will be responsible for building relationships with contractors, equipment dealers, and rental companies and developing the market from the ground up. The ideal candidate is a proven equipment salesperson who enjoys prospecting, opening doors, and introducing customers to new solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow the assigned market through consistent prospecting and new business development.
  • Build relationships with general contractors, heavy equipment dealers, rental companies, and other construction industry customers.
  • Manage the complete sales cycle from initial outreach and discovery through equipment demonstrations, technical discussions, proposals, and closing.
  • Educate customers on autonomous retrofit technology and demonstrate how it can improve equipment utilization, productivity, and jobsite operations.
  • Identify active construction projects, contractors, dealer partners, and rental operations that present potential sales opportunities.
  • Develop relationships with key decision-makers throughout the territory while maintaining consistent customer follow-up.
  • Represent the company at regional trade shows, dealer events, association meetings, and other industry functions.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and accurately track opportunities and customer activity.
  • Provide market feedback regarding customer needs, competitive activity, industry trends, and future product opportunities.
  • Work independently from a home office while spending significant time in the field developing the territory.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of heavy equipment sales or rental experience within construction, industrial, agriculture, or a related equipment market.
  • Proven ability to prospect, develop new accounts, and build a sales territory, rather than relying primarily on an existing customer base.
  • Experience working for an equipment dealership, rental company, OEM, distributor, or similar organization strongly preferred.
  • Existing relationships with contractors, equipment dealers, or rental companies within the assigned territory are a plus.
  • Strong understanding of heavy equipment customers and the construction sales environment.
  • Comfortable learning a technical product and communicating its capabilities and business value to customers.
  • Strong presentation, relationship-building, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable operating independently in a growing, entrepreneurial organization.
  • Willingness to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory for customer meetings, demonstrations, and industry events.
