A specialty equipment manufacturer and distributor is seeking an Account Sales Manager based in the Greater Seattle, Washington area to develop and support a Midwest sales territory. This role will focus primarily on a specialized line of forestry equipment.

This is a hands-on sales position for someone who enjoys developing dealer and rental relationships, demonstrating equipment, and building new business. The ideal candidate has experience with vegetation management, mowing, forestry, municipal, compact, outdoor power, or specialty equipment and is comfortable with significant travel.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow equipment sales throughout the assigned Midwest territory.
  • Build new relationships with equipment dealers and rental companies while managing existing accounts.
  • Prospect for new business and solicit equipment orders from regional and national accounts.
  • Conduct hands-on equipment demonstrations and educate dealers and customers on product capabilities and applications.
  • Work with dealers to identify end-user opportunities and generate additional equipment sales.
  • Call on customers including municipalities, DOTs, contractors, forestry and land-clearing companies, landscapers, public works departments, and vegetation-management organizations.
  • Attend trade shows, promotional events, dealer meetings, and other industry events.
  • Support national accounts as assigned.
  • Maintain regular communication with customers and provide ongoing sales and product support.
  • Travel extensively throughout the Midwest while periodically participating in meetings at the company’s Washington office.

Qualifications

  • Previous sales experience with vegetation management, mowing, forestry, municipal, compact, outdoor power, construction, or related equipment preferred.
  • Experience developing equipment dealers or selling through a dealer network strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with rental companies, municipalities, DOTs, public works, landscaping, forestry, or right-of-way customers is a plus.
  • Strong new-business development and territory management skills.
  • Comfortable operating and demonstrating equipment in front of customers.
  • Self-motivated and capable of managing a large geographic territory independently.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory.
  • Must be based in the Greater Seattle, Washington area.
