A well-established, family-owned heavy equipment dealership is seeking a Sales Representative to cover the state of West Virginia. This field-based role is responsible for selling and renting construction and heavy equipment, attachments, and related solutions while developing long-term customer relationships throughout the territory.

The ideal candidate is a motivated outside sales professional with experience in heavy equipment, commercial trucks, automotive, or a related industry. This individual will manage an established territory while actively identifying new business opportunities and partnering with internal Parts, Service, and Rental teams to provide customers with complete equipment solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Sell and rent new and used heavy equipment, attachments, and related solutions throughout West Virginia.
  • Develop new business through prospecting, industry relationships, market research, and jobsite visits.
  • Manage and grow relationships with existing customers while identifying opportunities to expand business.
  • Understand customers’ operations, equipment fleets, applications, and financial needs to recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Manage the full sales process, including prospecting, equipment recommendations, quotations, financing, negotiations, delivery, and follow-up.
  • Work with internal and external financing partners to develop financing solutions for customers.
  • Coordinate equipment rentals, deliveries, and customer needs with branch teams.
  • Partner closely with Parts, Service, and Rental departments to provide ongoing product support.
  • Maintain regular contact with customers and ensure timely follow-up on questions, concerns, and equipment needs.
  • Travel daily throughout the assigned West Virginia territory to visit customers, jobsites, and prospects.

Qualifications

  • Previous sales experience in heavy equipment, construction equipment, commercial trucks, automotive, or a related industry preferred.
  • Proven ability to meet sales, revenue, or other performance goals.
  • Strong prospecting, relationship-building, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Ability to understand customer operations and develop equipment and financial solutions based on their needs.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and customer service skills.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable managing a field-based sales territory independently.
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Must reside within the assigned territory.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly throughout West Virginia.
