Position Details & Responsibilities

A growing manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to provide overall leadership for a large manufacturing facility in South-Central Tennessee.

This position will oversee day-to-day plant operations while ensuring the facility operates in alignment with company-wide production, quality, safety, financial, and continuous improvement standards. The ideal candidate is a hands-on manufacturing leader with strong P&L responsibility, operational discipline, and team leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership for plant operations, including production, staffing, quality, safety, facilities, and financial performance.
• Lead and develop department managers while establishing clear goals, expectations, and accountability.
• Implement company manufacturing standards, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage staffing, recruiting, performance management, training, and employee development.
• Own plant-level P&L performance, budgeting, cost control, labor efficiency, productivity, and material utilization.
• Monitor production, inventory, financial, and operational KPIs and implement corrective actions when needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency, quality, cost, and overall plant performance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable federal, state, and workplace safety regulations.
• Oversee facility and building maintenance while maintaining a safe, organized, professional manufacturing environment.
• Partner with corporate leadership, suppliers, customers, and internal departments to support company-wide objectives.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of management experience within a manufacturing environment, with demonstrated plant leadership experience.
• Proven experience managing manufacturing operations, teams, budgets, and P&L performance.
• Strong knowledge of production planning, cost control, labor management, quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Experience with steel, fabrication, and welding operations strongly preferred.
• Strong financial, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop managers and large manufacturing teams.
• Knowledge of OSHA/TOSHA and other applicable manufacturing regulations.
• Postsecondary degree or diploma in business, engineering, manufacturing, or a related technical field preferred.
• Comfortable maintaining a regular presence on the production floor and supporting operations outside standard hours when necessary.
