Position Details & Responsibilities

A well-established truck and equipment service organization is seeking an experienced Service Supervisor based in the Boston metropolitan area to lead a team of technicians and oversee day-to-day service operations. This is a hands-on, customer-facing leadership role responsible for managing the full service cycle, coordinating closely with the Parts Department, and ensuring repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong hydraulic and electrical background, previous experience leading technicians, and a team-oriented approach that fits well within a smaller organization.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, support, and coordinate the daily activities of a team of service technicians.
  • Manage the complete service process from initial customer needs and work scheduling through repair completion and follow-up.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers regarding service needs, repair status, and technical concerns.
  • Assign work to technicians based on workload, skill level, and customer priorities.
  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support, particularly involving hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Monitor repair quality, productivity, workflow, and turnaround times.
  • Work closely with the Parts Department to ensure technicians have the components and materials needed to complete repairs efficiently.
  • Assist with technician training and occasional field-based training or support.
  • Promote a collaborative, respectful, and safety-focused shop environment.

Qualifications

 

  • Strong hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting experience required.
  • Previous leadership experience supervising or directing service technicians required.
  • Experience within truck-mounted equipment, heavy equipment, utility equipment, or a similar service environment strongly preferred.
  • Approximately 10+ years of overall industry experience preferred.
  • Previous experience with a truck/equipment service organization or similar operation highly desirable.
  • Strong customer service, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Team-oriented leadership style with the ability to work effectively in a small-company environment.
  • CDL Class B preferred; assistance obtaining a CDL may be available for the right candidate.
  • Must live within the required local commuting radius.
