A growing organization is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager based in Central Florida to oversee the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of multi-state payroll operations. This leadership role is responsible for managing the full payroll cycle while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The Payroll Manager will also serve as a key resource for payroll systems administration, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration with Human Resources, Finance, and Operations.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in managing complex multi-state payroll processes within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end processing of multi-state payroll, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely payroll delivery
  • Process payroll for hourly, salaried, commissioned, and bonus-eligible employees while reviewing payroll data for accuracy
  • Administer payroll-related deductions, including benefits, retirement plans, garnishments, tax levies, and other withholdings
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and company policies
  • Coordinate year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and payroll tax reporting
  • Oversee time and attendance administration, employee time records, and paid time off accruals
  • Maintain employee payroll records and support HRIS administration, including new hires, employee status changes, promotions, transfers, leaves of absence, and terminations
  • Prepare payroll, labor, compliance, and workforce reports for Human Resources, Accounting, and executive leadership
  • Develop and maintain payroll procedures, internal controls, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Partner with Human Resources, Finance, and Operations to ensure payroll processes support overall business objectives
  • Serve as the primary contact for payroll audits, regulatory inquiries, and payroll-related employee questions
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and company information

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum of 7 years of payroll management experience, including multi-state payroll administration
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll tax regulations, wage and hour laws, garnishments, and retirement plan administration
  • Experience processing payroll using ADP Workforce Now or a similar enterprise payroll system
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field preferred
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, along with payroll and HRIS systems
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while consistently meeting deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments
