Position Details & Responsibilities
A growing equipment manufacturer is seeking a Regional Sales Manager to drive business growth across a multi-state territory in the Northeast. This is a field-based role focused on developing new business, strengthening existing customer relationships, and expanding market share throughout the assigned region.
The ideal candidate is a true hunter with a proven track record of building territories, identifying new opportunities, and closing business. This role requires someone who enjoys being on the road, has prior experience managing a travel-intensive territory, and is comfortable spending approximately 50% of their time visiting customers, distributors, and industry events.
Candidates must reside in New Jersey, New York, or Pennsylvania.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic growth plan for the assigned multi-state territory
- Prospect and secure new customers while expanding relationships with existing accounts
- Identify new market opportunities and grow market share through consultative selling
- Manage the complete sales cycle, including prospecting, presentations, proposals, negotiations, and closing
- Build long-term relationships with distributors, dealers, end users, and key decision-makers
- Conduct regular customer visits, product demonstrations, and business reviews throughout the territory
- Collaborate with internal sales, engineering, customer support, and operations teams to deliver outstanding customer service
- Monitor competitive activity, industry trends, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, CRM activity, and pipeline reporting
- Represent the company at trade shows, customer events, and industry meetings

Qualifications
- Previous B2B outside sales experience within heavy equipment, industrial equipment, manufacturing, OEM, or related industries
- Proven success growing a territory through new business development and relationship management
- Hunter mentality with a demonstrated ability to generate new opportunities and consistently exceed sales goals
- Previous experience managing a travel-based territory with approximately 50% travel required
- Strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage a large geographic territory
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively throughout the assigned region
