A leading equipment manufacturer is seeking a Regional Sales Manager to drive dealer network expansion and sales growth throughout a multi-state territory. This newly created position offers the opportunity to play a key role in building the company's market presence.

Initially, this role will focus heavily on recruiting and developing new dealer partners while growing fleet and key account business. As the territory matures, the position will transition into a more strategic account management role. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, relationship-driven sales professional who enjoys building territories, developing dealer networks, and spending significant time in the field.

Candidates should reside in Texas near a major airport and be comfortable traveling extensively throughout the assigned territory.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and expand the company's dealer distribution network throughout the assigned territory
  • Recruit, onboard, and support new dealer partners while strengthening existing dealer relationships
  • Grow sales through dealer channels, fleet customers, and national accounts
  • Manage dealer inventory, forecasting, and sales performance to support continued growth
  • Identify new business opportunities and execute territory development strategies
  • Represent the company's complete equipment product line through customer visits, dealer meetings, demonstrations, and trade shows
  • Gather competitive market intelligence and provide recommendations on market trends and opportunities
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts, CRM activity, and pipeline reporting
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure exceptional dealer support and customer satisfaction

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum of 5 years of B2B outside sales experience within heavy equipment, trailers, transportation equipment, commercial vehicles, or related industries
  • Experience developing and managing dealer distribution networks required
  • OEM sales experience strongly preferred
  • Fleet sales or national account experience highly desirable
  • Proven ability to develop new business while growing existing relationships
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage a multi-state territory
  • Willingness to travel 50-70% throughout the assigned region, with heavier travel expected during the first year
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent industry experience
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the territory
