A growing equipment rental organization is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to develop and expand business throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania

This position reports directly to the President and offers a unique opportunity for someone who wants more than a traditional sales role. The successful candidate will be responsible for growing the territory, increasing market share, and ultimately helping build and lead a sales team within the region as the business continues to expand.

The ideal candidate will have experience in equipment rental, heavy equipment, construction equipment, or a related industry and be motivated by the opportunity to help shape the future growth of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow rental revenue within an assigned territory through new business development and account management
  • Build strong relationships with contractors, construction companies, industrial customers, municipalities, and other equipment users
  • Conduct regular customer visits, jobsite visits, and prospecting activities throughout the territory
  • Identify customer equipment needs and recommend rental solutions that support project requirements
  • Generate quotes, negotiate rental agreements, and close new business opportunities
  • Maintain and expand relationships with existing customers while identifying opportunities for additional business
  • Work closely with operations, service, and dispatch teams to ensure exceptional customer support
  • Track customer activity, opportunities, and sales pipeline within CRM systems
  • Stay informed on local market conditions, competitive activity, and industry trends
  • Represent the company at customer events, trade shows, and industry functions as needed
  • Meet or exceed territory sales and revenue goals
  • Help establish the foundation for future territory growth and team expansion
  • Assist in developing sales strategies, processes, and market penetration plans
  • Play a leadership role in the future development of a regional sales team

Qualifications

  • Prior outside sales experience required
  • Equipment rental, heavy equipment, construction equipment, industrial equipment, or related industry experience preferred
  • Proven ability to develop new business and manage customer relationships
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage a territory effectively
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to help build and grow a market
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to prioritize multiple opportunities and manage time efficiently
  • Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office products
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required
  • Willingness to spend significant time in the field meeting with customers and prospects
