Position Details & Responsibilities

A growing equipment organization is seeking an Equipment Consultant to develop and manage a sales territory in Northern Ohio. This role is focused on building a book of business, identifying new opportunities, and delivering equipment solutions through a consultative sales approach.

This is a field-based, high-activity role ideal for a driven, self-motivated sales professional who enjoys owning a territory, working directly with customers, and growing their career in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute territory business plans to drive sales growth and market share
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities while expanding existing accounts
  • Build strong relationships with customers across municipalities, contractors, and private organizations
  • Guide customers through the full sales cycle, including needs analysis, proposal development, and post-sale support
  • Present and demonstrate equipment solutions in both indoor and outdoor environments
  • Maintain ownership of key accounts and coordinate internal resources to deliver solutions
  • Utilize consultative selling techniques to position equipment and differentiate from competitors
  • Track sales activity, pipeline, and customer interactions within CRM systems
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify opportunities and support territory growth
  • Stay informed on market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape

Qualifications

  • Prior outside sales experience required
  • Strong business development and territory-building experience preferred
  • Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial, “hunter” mentality
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of a new territory
  • Comfortable presenting in field environments, including job sites and outdoor settings
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered
