Position Details & Responsibilities

A growing construction organization is seeking a Purchasing Associate to support procurement and operations from its Western Washington area facility. This role is a key part of the company’s operations and logistics team, helping ensure construction projects receive the tools, equipment, materials, and consumables needed to stay on schedule and within budget.

This is a fast-paced, high-visibility role ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, vendor coordination, and supporting multiple active projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate will have experience within construction, equipment rental, industrial supply, manufacturing, or procurement environments and understand construction tools, consumables, and jobsite operations.

Responsibilities

  • Process purchasing requests for tools, equipment, consumables, and jobsite materials to support active construction projects
  • Source materials and equipment from vendors while ensuring pricing, availability, and delivery timelines align with project needs
  • Track orders from request through delivery and proactively communicate updates, delays, shortages, or issues to internal teams
  • Work closely with field personnel, project managers, warehouse staff, and customer solutions teams to ensure order accuracy and timely fulfillment
  • Coordinate with vendors and third-party suppliers to resolve backorders and delivery challenges
  • Review quotes, analyze purchasing options, and support cost-effective procurement decisions
  • Maintain purchasing records, procurement analytics, inventory data, and vendor information
  • Support daily logistics coordination and scheduling activities with warehouse and operations teams
  • Build strong working relationships with vendors, project teams, and internal stakeholders
  • Assist with inventory tracking and physical inventory activities as needed

Qualifications

 

  • 2+ years of procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience within construction, manufacturing, equipment rental, or industrial environments preferred
  • Strong understanding of construction tools, equipment, consumables, and jobsite materials required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook and Excel
  • Experience with procurement systems, inventory software, CRM platforms, or ERP systems preferred
