A growing equipment organization is seeking an Equipment Consultant to take over a high-priority territory in Northwest Illinois. This role is focused on re-establishing market presence, re-engaging customers, and driving new business through a consultative, field-based sales approach.

This is a strong opportunity for a motivated sales professional who thrives on rebuilding momentum in a territory and creating long-term growth.

Responsibilities

  • Rebuild and grow an established territory through account development and new business acquisition
  • Reconnect with existing and inactive customers while actively prospecting new opportunities
  • Build strong relationships with municipalities, contractors, and private organizations
  • Guide customers through the full sales cycle, including needs analysis, proposals, and post-sale support
  • Present and demonstrate equipment solutions in both indoor and outdoor environments
  • Maintain ownership of key accounts and coordinate internal resources to deliver solutions
  • Utilize consultative selling techniques to position products and differentiate from competitors
  • Track sales activity, pipeline, and customer interactions within CRM systems
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support territory growth and customer success
  • Stay informed on market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity

Qualifications

 

  • Prior outside sales experience required
  • Strong territory management and business development skills
  • Self-motivated with a competitive, results-driven mentality
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team environment
  • Comfortable presenting in field environments, including job sites and outdoor settings
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered
