Position Details & Responsibilities

A growing organization within the equipment rental and construction industries is seeking an experienced Accounting Director based in Southeast Pennsylvania to oversee financial operations and support continued business growth. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing accounting functions, financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow, and operational financial processes across multiple business entities.

The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting leadership experience along with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment where collaboration, problem-solving, and attention to detail are critical.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close processes
  • Prepare and review accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reporting
  • Manage financial reporting and consolidation across multiple entities and business operations
  • Develop annual budgets and analyze budget-to-actual performance
  • Monitor and forecast cash flow to support operational and strategic planning
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and proper revenue recognition practices
  • Oversee accounts payable reconciliation and payment processes
  • Manage fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation, and asset tracking
  • Support sales tax reporting and tax-related activities as needed
  • Collaborate with operational teams on billing, invoicing, inventory, purchase orders, and vendor management
  • Assist with financial processes tied to equipment operations and real estate holdings
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency
  • Support leadership with financial analysis, reporting, and strategic decision-making

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • CPA designation preferred
  • Strong background in accounting leadership and financial reporting
  • Experience within equipment rental, construction, industrial, or related industries highly preferred
  • Knowledge of WIP accounting and percentage-of-completion accounting is a plus
  • Familiarity with sales tax regulations and tax reporting preferred
  • Experience with accounting and operational systems such as RentalMan, Wynne, Procore, Sage, Intempo, or similar platforms preferred
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
