A leading equipment organization is seeking a Vice President of Rental to drive growth, operational performance, and overall strategy for its rental division in California. This executive role carries full P&L responsibility and oversees a multi-location, asset-intensive operation focused on expanding market share and maximizing fleet utilization.

Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of current experience for a construction rental company

This is a high-impact leadership position for a proven rental executive who can scale operations, optimize assets, and lead high-performing teams in a dynamic, growth-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute multi-year growth strategies to increase revenue, market share, and profitability
  • Lead full P&L management, including revenue performance, margins, operating expenses, and capital investment
  • Drive fleet optimization strategies, including asset mix, utilization, and lifecycle management to maximize ROI
  • Partner with sales and marketing teams to strengthen go-to-market strategy and grow key accounts
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing leadership team across multiple locations
  • Ensure operational excellence across all branches, including safety, compliance, and service delivery
  • Identify opportunities for expansion, new markets, and service offerings
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align rental operations with broader organizational objectives
  • Represent the organization with key customers, partners, and industry stakeholders

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of senior leadership experience in equipment rental, heavy equipment, or related industries
  • Minimum of 10 years of current experience for a construction rental company
  • Proven success managing multi-location operations with full P&L responsibility
  • Strong background in fleet management, asset utilization, and capital planning
  • Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth and operational efficiency
  • Executive leadership presence with the ability to influence and align teams across the organization
  • Strong financial, strategic, and operational acumen
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered
