Position Details & Responsibilities

A growing equipment organization in the environmental and infrastructure support industry is seeking a Shop Manager to lead and develop its service operations in the Southeast Texas area. This role will oversee a small team of technicians with a strong focus on hands-on leadership, operational growth, and service quality.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician or service professional ready to step into a leadership role while still staying involved on the shop floor. The position offers the ability to build and grow a service operation in one of the most active markets in the country.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shop operations, including scheduling, workflow, and repair quality
• Lead and support a small team of technicians, with plans to grow the team over time
• Perform hands-on diagnostics and repairs as needed to support the team
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of work orders and service documentation
• Maintain high standards for safety, quality, and customer satisfaction
• Work closely with customers to understand service needs and provide solutions
• Help grow the service business by identifying opportunities for increased service volume
• Manage shop efficiency, tooling, and overall operational performance
• Collaborate with parts and other internal teams to ensure smooth operations

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a service technician in heavy equipment, refuse, or related industries
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to remain hands-on in the shop
• Experience working with refuse, sewer, vacuum, or municipal equipment preferred
• Ability to lead, train, and develop technicians
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Self-motivated with a desire to grow and build a team
• Valid driver’s license required
