A leading provider of critical power solutions is seeking an Operations Manager in Upstate New York to lead branch operations and support continued growth throughout the region. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, driving operational efficiency, supporting customer satisfaction, and developing high-performing teams.

The organization specializes in the sales, service, rental, and support of power generation equipment and related solutions for commercial, industrial, institutional, and government customers. The ideal candidate will have prior operations or branch management experience and a strong understanding of service-driven organizations. Experience within power generation, electrical systems, industrial equipment, or related industries is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily branch operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, operational efficiency, and financial performance
  • Manage and develop branch personnel, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
  • Oversee service, parts, rental, and operational functions to ensure customer needs are met effectively and efficiently
  • Monitor key performance indicators, financial results, and operational metrics to drive profitability and growth
  • Support business development efforts by building strong customer relationships and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate with leadership to establish strategic goals, budgets, and operational plans
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, productivity, and overall branch performance
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and industry regulations
  • Manage staffing, workforce planning, and employee development initiatives
  • Work closely with customers, vendors, and internal teams to resolve issues and support long-term business growth
  • Oversee inventory, equipment utilization, and operational resources to maximize efficiency and profitability

Qualifications

 

  • Previous Operations Manager, Branch Manager, General Manager, or similar leadership experience required
  • Experience managing service-oriented operations within power generation, electrical, industrial equipment, mechanical contracting, construction services, or related industries preferred
  • Strong leadership and team development skills with experience managing multiple functions and employees
  • Proven ability to improve operational performance, customer satisfaction, and financial results
  • Experience managing budgets, forecasting, P&L performance, and key business metrics
  • Strong customer relationship management and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with business systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Technical aptitude and understanding of industrial equipment, power systems, or electrical systems preferred
