Position Details & Responsibilities
A heavy equipment dealership in Michigan is seeking a hands-on Parts Manager to lead its parts department. With decades of service in the equipment industry, this organization prides itself on strong customer relationships and a team-oriented culture.
This role will be part of a small, collaborative department. The ideal candidate must be comfortable wearing multiple hats and contributing in multiple capacities, from leadership and inventory management to direct customer support and counter sales.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily parts department operations, including inventory, ordering, and customer service
- Lead and support a small team, ensuring workflow efficiency and strong communication
- Manage parts inventory levels, stock orders, returns, and vendor relationships
- Assist customers at the counter and over the phone with parts identification and order processing
- Work closely with the service department to ensure timely parts availability for repairs
- Monitor parts margins, aging inventory, and overall department performance
- Maintain accurate records in the dealership’s inventory and business systems
- Coordinate shipping, receiving, and logistics functions
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance customer satisfaction

Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in heavy equipment parts operations
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of parts inventory control and vendor management
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a small team environment
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Proficiency with dealership management systems and Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
