A growing equipment dealership is seeking a Field Service Technician based in Southeast Texas to perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repair on material handling equipment.

This role includes a mix of field-based service at customer sites and in-shop repairs, depending on workload and business needs. The ideal candidate is technically strong, self-directed, and takes pride in delivering high-quality service.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair internal combustion and electric-powered equipment
  • Troubleshoot engines, transmissions, brake systems, and electrical components
  • Service and repair hydraulic systems, including pumps, cylinders, and control valves
  • Maintain and repair electric units, including AC/DC systems, batteries, and charging components
  • Perform field service at customer locations using a company service vehicle when assigned
  • Complete shop-based repairs as needed to support branch workload
  • Accurately document repairs, labor hours, parts usage, and meter readings
  • Maintain a professional, customer-focused presence while on job sites
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and best practices

Qualifications

  • 2–3+ years of mechanical repair experience (forklifts, material handling, automotive, or heavy equipment preferred)
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Ability to read and interpret service manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 75–100 lbs and work in varying environmental conditions
  • Comfortable working independently in the field and as part of a team
