A well-established crane and rigging company in Eastern New York is seeking an experienced Crane Operator to support a wide range of lifting and rigging projects.

This role is responsible for operating cranes safely and efficiently on construction, industrial, and commercial job sites while maintaining a strong focus on safety, professionalism, and teamwork. The ideal candidate brings hands-on crane experience, strong situational awareness, and a commitment to completing work safely and on schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate mobile cranes and related lifting equipment on a variety of job sites.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and complete required documentation.
  • Review lift plans and coordinate closely with rigging crews, signal persons, and site supervisors.
  • Execute lifts in accordance with company policies, site requirements, and OSHA regulations.
  • Set up, position, and secure cranes based on job specifications and site conditions.
  • Communicate clearly with crew members to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Identify potential hazards and take proactive steps to mitigate risk.
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness and report mechanical or safety concerns promptly.
  • Represent the company professionally with customers, contractors, and job site personnel.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience operating cranes in construction, industrial, or rigging environments.
  • NCCCO or equivalent crane operator certification preferred.
  • Strong understanding of load charts, rigging practices, and lift planning.
  • Commitment to safety and compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and on active job sites.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Must have a Class A or Class B CDL.
