An established equipment company is seeking a Rental Account Manager to grow rental revenue across Northern New Jersey.

This is an outside sales role focused on developing relationships with contractors, municipalities, and industrial customers by providing short- and long-term rental solutions.

The right person will understand how rental supports jobsite productivity and will take ownership of their territory through consistent field activity and customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Grow rental revenue within an assigned Northern New Jersey territory
  • Develop and manage relationships with existing customers while prospecting new accounts
  • Identify rental opportunities by conducting regular jobsite visits and customer meetings
  • Recommend appropriate equipment based on job requirements, timelines, and applications
  • Coordinate with inside rental, service, and logistics teams to ensure smooth execution
  • Monitor rental utilization, contract terms, and follow-ups to drive repeat business
  • Maintain accurate activity, opportunities, and forecasts in the CRM
  • Stay informed on local market conditions, competitors, and customer needs

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in equipment rental sales or rental-focused outside sales
  • Strong understanding of construction or industrial equipment rental applications
  • Proven ability to manage a territory and build long-term customer relationships
  • Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently in the field
  • Strong communication and consultative selling skills
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the region
