Position Details & Responsibilities
Our client is seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead the service operations at one of their branch locations in Long Island.
This role will oversee technicians, dispatch, and support staff, ensuring efficient repairs, high-quality service, and strong customer satisfaction. Candidates with backgrounds in heavy equipment, municipal equipment, or related industries are strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily service operations, including scheduling, dispatch, and workflow management.
- Supervise and develop a team of field and shop technicians, service writers, and support staff.
- Ensure timely and cost-effective repairs and maintenance for customer and company-owned equipment.
- Oversee warranty, compliance, and safety standards.
- Monitor department performance, including labor efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with parts and sales departments to ensure a seamless customer experience.

Qualifications
- 5+ years of management or supervisory experience in service operations, preferably in heavy equipment, trucks, or municipal machinery.
- Strong technical understanding of diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage budgets, service metrics, and profitability.
- Computer literacy with service management or CRM software.
