Our client is seeking a driven and customer-focused Rental Account Manager to join their growing equipment rental organization in South Dakota.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for promoting and managing rentals of equipment, attachments, and related services across an assigned territory. This is a hands-on sales role that involves regular customer visits, territory development, and relationship building.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive rental revenue by promoting new and used equipment and attachments to customers within your territory.
  • Manage assigned territory through consistent office and jobsite visits, phone calls, email, and other outreach methods.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships by understanding their equipment needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Prospect, identify, and qualify new customers through cold calling, lead follow-up, and presentations.
  • Utilize CRM tools to document activities, track opportunities, and manage account information accurately and on time.
  • Stay informed on market trends, competitor products, and construction phases to identify new sales opportunities.
  • Negotiate contracts, develop quotes, and manage pricing and terms.
  • Assist in collecting on past-due accounts and maintaining healthy account relationships.
  • Participate in trade shows, training, and sales meetings.
  • Coordinate equipment deliveries and handle occasional after-hours customer calls.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; post-secondary education in business or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in equipment rental, sales, or a fast-paced business environment strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient with basic computer and CRM systems.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required; CDL is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 20%.
  • Ability to build trust with customers and work both independently and collaboratively.
