Position Details & Responsibilities
We are partnered with a leading equipment dealership to hire a Heavy Equipment Certification & Safety Trainer in Western Pennsylvania to deliver operator training and safety programs while also helping expand customer relationships. This role combines hands-on training and classroom instruction with business development, making it a great fit for someone who enjoys teaching, building relationships, and growing business opportunities.
This is a unique opportunity for a safety-minded trainer who is also motivated by sales and growth, offering a mix of teaching, customer interaction, and business development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver classroom and hands-on safety training for customers on equipment such as forklifts, aerial lifts, and cranes
- Lead certification courses and evaluate operator skills to ensure OSHA compliance
- Develop and maintain training materials, agendas, and presentations
- Build strong relationships with customers and identify opportunities to expand training services
- Partner with sales and marketing to generate new business through outreach, calls, and customer visits
- Maintain accurate records of certifications and training activity
- Travel regionally for customer training sessions (home most nights; company vehicle provided)

Qualifications
- Experience operating or training on heavy equipment such as forklifts, MEWPs, or cranes
- Strong presentation skills; comfortable leading small and large group classes
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards
- Previous training experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to balance technical training delivery with sales/business development efforts
