Position Details & Responsibilities
We are working with a client seeking a Sales Application Engineer to support the design, sales, and delivery of customized heavy equipment solutions located in Southeast Virginia.
This role combines technical engineering expertise with project management and customer collaboration, helping ensure that complex equipment systems meet client needs. The position involves some international travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage projects from proposal through delivery, ensuring budgets, timelines, and quality standards are met
- Collaborate with engineering, sales, and manufacturing teams to design and deliver customized hydraulic, electrical, and control systems
- Serve as a technical liaison for global customers, gathering requirements, providing guidance, and ensuring satisfaction
- Prepare proposals, pricing, and technical documentation to support the sales process
- Support new product development initiatives by evaluating concepts, recommending improvements, and participating in prototype testing and commissioning
- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and competitor offerings to provide insights and recommendations
This role is ideal for a customer-focused engineer with strong project management skills who enjoys blending technical problem-solving with business development.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field (advanced degree preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in engineering design and project management, ideally within mining, quarrying, or heavy equipment industries
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and control systems
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work directly with customers and cross-functional teams
- Project management experience; certification such as PMP is a plus
- Willingness to travel, including occasional international trips
