Position Details & Responsibilities
An established equipment dealership is seeking a skilled and service-driven Parts Manager to lead their growing parts department in Southern California.
This team supports a wide range of municipal, government, and commercial clients throughout the region by providing timely and accurate parts support for premium brands in the land management and heavy equipment space.
This is a key leadership role within the organization, responsible for overseeing internal parts operations that support the company’s contracting and service divisions, as well as walk-in retail traffic. The ideal candidate is a hands-on manager with dealership or rental industry experience, strong inventory control capabilities, and the ability to lead and mentor a small but capable team.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the parts department, including supervision of four parts associates
- Train and develop team members to ensure excellent customer service and internal support
- Manage inventory levels to ensure accurate stock, reduce aging inventory, and support equipment uptime
- Conduct regular cycle counts, monitor stock rotation, and manage OEM order timelines
- Support internal service department needs to meet deadlines on municipal contracts and jobsite repairs
- Handle customer inquiries, special orders, and walk-in sales (10–20 daily)
- Analyze KPIs such as gross profit margins, inventory turns, fill rates, and returns
- Collaborate with vendors to secure competitive pricing and timely delivery
- Maintain accurate records, ensure safety and compliance with company policies

Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in a parts leadership role, preferably in agriculture or construction equipment
- Strong understanding of inventory management and OEM procurement processes
- Proven experience mentoring and managing small parts teams
- Familiarity with dealership or rental operations highly preferred
- Excellent communication, customer service, and vendor negotiation skills
- Ability to manage parts for both retail sales and internal service support
- Tech-savvy and comfortable with dealership management systems and inventory tracking tools
