Position Details & Responsibilities

A multi-location equipment dealership is seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer based in the California Central Valley to lead operations across its construction and agriculture branches. This role is ideal for a dealership leader with a background in service or parts and a proven track record in multi-site operations management. 

This is a key leadership role offering long-term growth potential within a well-established dealership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations across all departments including service, parts, sales, and rental
  • Lead and develop branch and departmental managers with a focus on performance, safety, and customer satisfaction
  • Ensure process consistency, service quality, and operational efficiency across all locations
  • Drive strategic growth initiatives including market expansion, cost control, and resource planning
  • Collaborate with ownership and finance teams on budgeting, forecasting, and profitability targets
  • Champion customer service standards and resolve escalated issues
  • Monitor KPIs (technician efficiency, absorption, inventory turnover, etc.) and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory policies
  • Promote team development, succession planning, and a strong organizational culture

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of leadership experience within a heavy equipment dealership (required)
  • Background in service or parts with a strong understanding of dealership operations
  • Experience managing multiple branches and teams
  • Strong financial acumen and familiarity with performance metrics
  • Proficiency with dealership management systems (CDK preferred)
  • Experience with EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or related field preferred
