Position Details & Responsibilities
A well-established equipment dealership is seeking a Service Manager for their branch located in the Central Coast Region of California.
The Service Manager will oversee daily operations of the service department, leading a team of technicians and support staff while ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality customer service, and achievement of departmental goals. This role requires a mix of leadership, technical understanding, and operational management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor service team members; manage hiring, scheduling, and performance development.
- Create and execute annual service department goals, budgets, and marketing plans.
- Review and finalize work orders for accuracy and completeness before billing.
- Ensure departmental tools, equipment, and vehicles are properly maintained.
- Oversee warranty and product improvement claims, ensuring timely submission.
- Open repair orders, assign jobs based on skills, and monitor progress to maintain service standards.
- Analyze departmental reports to drive continuous improvement and operational success.
- Collaborate with other departments to support customer needs and business objectives.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in service department operations; equipment industry preferred.
- Solid understanding of financial principles related to service operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to analyze internal reports.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service mindset and leadership abilities.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
