Position Details & Responsibilities
A well-established equipment dealership is seeking a General Service Manager to lead and oversee all power service operations across their region in California. This executive-level role carries full P&L responsibility and will drive the strategic direction, performance, and culture of the service department.
This is a high-impact opportunity for a seasoned service leader with strong business acumen, people development skills, and a background in the heavy equipment or power generation industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all service operations across multiple locations, setting strategic direction and driving performance to meet revenue and profitability goals
- Oversee service budgets, capital expenditures, and cost management across the region
- Manage and develop a team of Regional Service Managers and Service Managers
- Foster a collaborative culture aligned with company values and operational excellence
- Partner with Sales, Rental, and Operations leadership to align goals and optimize customer support
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through proactive communication, timely resolution of issues, and consistent service delivery
- Support and drive employee engagement through coaching, performance development, and workforce planning
- Implement and enforce safety-first practices across all service locations
- Provide ongoing mentorship to supervisors, coordinators, and technicians on technical and operational best practices
- Regularly visit branch locations to build relationships and monitor performance

Qualifications
- 7+ years of service leadership experience in power systems or heavy equipment required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; a mechanical or technical background is a plus
- Strong operational and financial management skills
- Demonstrated success leading large, multi-site service teams
- High-level understanding of power generation equipment and customer support operations
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally
- Proven ability to coach and develop high-performing teams
- Willingness to travel throughout the region
