This job is an outside technical sales position for a high-performance crusher and heavy equipment wear parts manufacturer that requires on-site presence throughout NY (Upstate mostly) and or portions of surrounding states. The ideal candidate will prospect and generate new commercial business, as well as increase sales to existing customers. Daily tasks will include site visits and cold-calls in the field to generate new permanent sales. This candidate should be able to support existing clients and have an ability to properly explain the benefits of the company products while identifying opportunities for cross sale of items from third party vendors as well as items from within the company`s group offering. Technical skills are essential in the field when visiting clients as often the job will require identifying saleable parts by confirming dimensions and taking measurements.

 

Responsibilities

  • Identify prospective customers, lead generation and conversion
  • Contact new and existing customers to discuss wear parts needs
  • Emphasize the features of company products to highlight how they solve customer problems
  • Effectively plan inventory needs and pipeline management with new and existing customers
  • Provide technical sales support in the field
  • Prepare sales quotes and order confirmations
  • Collaborate with colleagues in many different sectors of the business
  • Maintain contact lists and follow up with customers to continue relationships
  • Participate in local industry trade shows and events
  • Travel 85+% (within the territory)
  • Base Salary + Commission

 

 

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years` experience on the Manufacturers and Services side of the Mining, Quarrying, or Recycling Industries, or similar experience on the producer side with strong desire for a career in technical sales
  • Technical background and familiarity with mining and aggregates, construction and demolition, recycling and asphalt
  • Background and knowledge of crushing and processing plants and equipment
  • Experience in developing and executing territory sales strategies
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, negotiation, and closing skills
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently to meet or exceed goals
  • Able to work cohesively with other team members and departments
