A well-established truck and trailer service organization is seeking an experienced Service Manager for its location in the Dallas metro area. This position will lead the day-to-day Service Department, with responsibility for technician performance, workflow, repair quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate has a strong service leadership background with experience in heavy-duty trucks, trailers, or a related equipment industry. This is a hands-on management role requiring strong technical knowledge, organization, and the ability to keep technicians and repair work moving efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the daily activities of Service Department technicians.
  • Schedule and prioritize repair work to maximize technician productivity and meet customer commitments.
  • Monitor open repair orders and ensure jobs are completed, documented, and closed accurately and on time.
  • Ensure technicians properly document labor, parts, repair details, inspections, and preventative maintenance work.
  • Coordinate closely with the Parts Department to ensure required parts are ordered and available for scheduled repairs.
  • Manage warranty repairs and required documentation.
  • Track after-hours service calls and technician hours.
  • Maintain service trucks and ensure field service equipment is ready for operation.
  • Communicate with customers regarding scheduling, repair status, and service needs.
  • Conduct daily yard checks and maintain a clean, organized Service Department.
  • Promote a safety-first culture and ensure employees follow applicable shop, field, and customer-site safety requirements.
  • Support additional branch and customer needs as required.

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of service industry experience, preferably within heavy-duty trucks, trailers, or related equipment.
  • Previous experience leading or supervising service technicians strongly preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical knowledge.
  • Ability to manage shop workflow, repair orders, technician productivity, and customer expectations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Customer-focused with the ability to resolve service issues professionally.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
