A heavy equipment organization is seeking a Regional Business Manager to manage a multi-state region. 

This position can be based anywhere within or near the territory with convenient access to a major airport and will be responsible for driving sales growth, strengthening the existing dealer network, and developing new dealer relationships.

The ideal candidate will bring experience from a construction equipment dealership or OEM. This is a highly autonomous position for someone who understands how to grow an equipment brand through an independent dealer network.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop multiple existing equipment dealers throughout the U.S.
  • Drive regional sales, market share, and overall dealer performance.
  • Build strong relationships with dealer principals, management, sales teams, and key customers.
  • Develop dealer sales plans, goals, inventory strategies, and action plans to support growth.
  • Coach and support dealer sales teams to improve product knowledge and sales performance.
  • Monitor inventory, pipeline activity, forecasting, and dealer performance.
  • Evaluate prospective dealers and support the selection, onboarding, and launch of new locations.
  • Support national and regional rental accounts and other strategic customers.
  • Coordinate with product support teams to address field issues and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Support new product introductions, equipment training, and dealer development initiatives.
  • Represent the organization at dealer meetings, customer visits, and industry trade shows.
  • Approximately 50% travel throughout the territory.

Qualifications

  • Proven sales or business development experience within construction equipment or a closely related equipment industry.
  • Experience working for an equipment OEM or dealership required.
  • Strong understanding of dealer development, dealer management, and equipment sales.
  • Proven ability to develop a territory and drive sales through independent dealers.
  • Experience recruiting and onboarding new equipment dealers is highly desirable.
  • Strong business acumen with experience in forecasting, inventory planning, and market development.
  • Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and comfortable operating independently across a large geographic territory.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, relationship-building, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Must live near a major airport and be willing to travel approximately 50%.
