A growing construction equipment dealership is seeking a Territory Sales Representative to manage and expand an established territory throughout the Greater Austin area. This is a field-based role focused on developing new business, growing existing accounts, and helping customers find the right equipment solutions for their operations.

This opportunity is ideal for a motivated sales professional who enjoys building relationships, managing their own territory, and operating with a high degree of autonomy. The successful candidate will be responsible for selling new and used equipment, generating rental business, and serving as a trusted advisor to customers throughout the territory.

With a strong equipment lineup, multiple branch locations for inventory support, and a reputation for exceptional service after the sale, this role offers significant earning potential for the right individual.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow an established territory throughout the Greater Austin region
  • Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers while aggressively pursuing new business opportunities
  • Sell new and used construction equipment across multiple product lines
  • Generate equipment rental revenue through existing and prospective customers
  • Conduct regular customer visits, jobsite visits, and equipment demonstrations
  • Identify customer needs and recommend equipment solutions that improve productivity and profitability
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the sales process
  • Assist customers with service, parts, warranty, and operational concerns by coordinating with internal departments
  • Work closely with sales, rental, service, and parts teams to ensure exceptional customer support
  • Maintain accurate customer records, sales activity, and opportunity tracking
  • Represent the company professionally within the territory and industry
  • Build long-term customer relationships that drive repeat business and market share growth

Qualifications

  • Heavy equipment sales experience required
  • Proven outside sales experience managing a territory and developing new business
  • Experience selling construction equipment, yellow iron, equipment rentals, trench safety products, fuel services, or related solutions preferred
  • Construction equipment dealership experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of road construction, municipalities, counties, contractors, or infrastructure-related markets is a plus
  • Strong prospecting, relationship-building, and closing skills
  • Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to work independently
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage a large territory and prioritize opportunities effectively
  • Positive attitude with a team-oriented approach to business
  • Valid driver's license required
