Position Details & Responsibilities

Our client, a heavy equipment dealership, is seeking an experienced Director of Human Resources based in the Southeast to lead and scale HR strategy.

The ideal candidate brings strong HR leadership experience within heavy equipment environments and understands how to balance compliance, culture, and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead HR strategy and execution.
  • Partner with executive leadership to support workforce planning, organizational design, and talent development.
  • Oversee recruiting, onboarding, retention, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and best practices aligned with company goals.
  • Support leadership development, succession planning, and training initiatives.
  • Provide guidance to managers on employee relations, performance issues, and disciplinary actions.
  • Oversee compensation, benefits administration, and HR systems.
  • Monitor workforce metrics and provide insights to leadership to support decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Proven HR leadership experience required.
  • Background in heavy equipment, construction, manufacturing, or industrial environments preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, and HR best practices.
  • Experience partnering with executive leadership and supporting operational teams.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; HR-related certifications a plus.
