Our client, a well-established heavy equipment dealership, is seeking a Road Product Application Specialist to support and grow relationships with paving and milling contractors across Indiana. This role is highly customer-facing and combines technical expertise with relationship development, serving as the go-to resource for road construction applications and equipment performance.

The ideal candidate enjoys working directly with foremen, superintendents, and operators in the field, providing hands-on training, startup support, and application guidance while partnering closely with sales and service teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform new equipment deliveries, machine walk-arounds, startups, and operator training.
  • Support product demonstrations and customer-owned equipment with application and operational guidance.
  • Serve as a technical liaison between customers, internal teams, and equipment manufacturers to resolve application issues.
  • Build strong relationships with jobsite personnel and become a trusted resource for road construction customers.
  • Visit jobsites regularly to inspect equipment, observe performance, and provide ongoing operator coaching.
  • Take ownership of customer issues and follow through to resolution.
  • Assist sales teams by recommending equipment specifications and product support solutions tailored to customer applications.
  • Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers as the primary application expert for road development products.
  • Maintain accurate customer, machine, and activity records in CRM systems.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical/diesel training required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in road construction, paving, milling, or heavy equipment applications (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Strong understanding of road development equipment, applications, and jobsite operations.
  • Prior experience in equipment service, maintenance, or shop management preferred.
  • Comfortable delivering hands-on training and working directly with operators and supervisors.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic CRM tools.
  • Willingness to travel overnight and work occasional evenings for startups or training.
  • Ability to pass background check, physical, and drug screening.
