Position Details & Responsibilities

Headquartered in Broadview Heights, Ohio, Ohio CAT is the exclusive, authorized dealer for Caterpillar equipment and engines throughout Ohio, northern Kentucky, and southeastern Indiana. Ohio CAT conducts its operations through three divisions: the Equipment Division, the Power Systems Division, and the Ohio Ag Equipment Division.

This individual is directly responsible for CAT Electric Power Generation emergency standby sales, 200kW and below. Responsibilities include lead generation, organizing and executing a bid calendar, preparation of market-competitive product proposals, and tenacious follow-up. The position will support the efforts of outside sales representatives and will be tasked with tracking and improving market awareness, participation rates, and won/loss ratios.

COMPETENCIES:

Competencies include product-specific technical knowledge as it relates to generator application, installation, and electric power system design. The ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, technical specifications, and requests for proposals to prepare a bid puts Ohio CAT in the best position to win business. Competency in prospecting Dodge Reports, Builders Exchange, state and local websites to identify projects bidding, and working through sales reps and contractors to implement a strategy to gain the business. Skills in building relationships both internally and externally allow Ohio CAT to grow its presence and gain effectiveness in the 200kW and below market.

Qualifications

B.S. degree preferred, other four-year degree considered. Technical sales experience required, with a proven record of accomplishment. Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude. Must have skills to read and interpret one-line diagrams and written specifications. Must live or be willing to relocate to work from the Cleveland office.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard, and to verbally communicate to exchange information. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
