Headquartered in Broadview Heights, Ohio, Ohio CAT is the exclusive, authorized dealer for Caterpillar equipment and engines throughout Ohio, northern Kentucky, and southeastern Indiana. Ohio CAT conducts its operations through three divisions: the Equipment Division, the Power Systems Division, and the Ohio Ag Equipment Division.
Product Support Sales Representatives are responsible for increasing parts and service sales to Ohio CAT Power Systems customers within a defined geographical area. The customers served will be found in the Power Generation, Industrial, Marine and OEM engine markets and will seek solutions to provide reduced operating costs and downtime. The Product Support Sales Representative will have input to territory planning and marketing and will have direct responsibility for the sales plan execution with the expectation of revenue and margin growth. Additional responsibilities include identifying and promoting opportunities for cross selling the portfolio of Ohio CAT, which requires open communication between sales, parts and service divisions adding value to our customer’s business.
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to form relationships across multiple levels within a customer’s organization. Must exhibit a strong sales aptitude completing a high frequency of in-person visits promoting products and services offered by Ohio CAT. Must have excellent time and territory management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects/clients simultaneously. Must have a high level of technical aptitude pertaining to diesel engines, electric power generation and/or marine power systems. Must be results oriented.
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent CAT/industry experience. Previous experience in a service organization, parts and service knowledge and/or previous experience related to the power generation industry a plus. Outside sales experience preferred with record of accomplishment of growth. Computer proficient, with MS-Windows software and CRM software. Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard, and to verbally communicate to exchange information. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
