Position Details & Responsibilities

Herk & Associates is recruiting an experienced Project Manager for a global manufacturer of industrial waste handling machinery. The position will be remote-based out of Charlotte, NC and requires up to 50% travel.

The Project Manager has responsibility over the entire project lifecycle upon delivery from the sales department through installation. The PM must coordinate final installation/commissioning and ensure that the project is delivered to the customer according to the business case. The position requires experience in detailed management & completion of complex projects, setting deadlines, and pre/post calculation follow-ups.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Participate during the initial sales phase and provide input, according to the tender material provided.
  • Approve the business case after it is developed by the sales department.
  • Create and maintain the project in the ERP system through the active project period.
  • Communicate with sales, designers, electrical engineers, and the customer to ensure the optimal results for all involved parties.
  • Customer centricity is key, onsite visits are required to understand their unique needs.
  • Generate ERP partlists for the project.
  • Can lead large and complex projects in a cross-functional environment.
  • Develop project timelines/schedules with complete purchasing and planning details, ensuring on time delivery.
  • Develop new ideas and solutions for projects.
  • Actively participate in OR lead weekly meetings regarding active project status and KPIs.


  • 2-5 years' experience working with technical projects in the industrial machinery industry or related industry.
  • Background in the Waste industry preferred.
  • Mechanical Engineering Degree or Similar.
  • Knowledge in working with ERP Systems.
  • Knowledge in working with CAD programs, Autodesk Inventor, and Autocad.
  • Ability to follow timelines and deliver succesfull projects within a fast-paced, constantly changing environmeny.
  • Knowledge of contract management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially in regards to working with customers.
  • Prior experience working with european companies is a plus.
  • Ability to work from a home office while maintaining high level of motivtaion and productivity.
