Position Details & Responsibilities

Herk and Associates has been retained by a leading Manufacturer in Ohio to help them identify a new Commercial Drill Mechanic/Product Support/Trainer specialist.

This is not a HANDS on Position, we are looking for an experienced Product Support Manager/Trainer to be responsible for serving as an interface between customers, sales team and the Customer Service Department.  

The Product Support Manager will also be responsible for performing: troubleshooting, diagnosing, analyzing and on occasion design/redesign of new or existing products.

The core duties and responsibilities include:  

Performs system diagnostic, replacement and repairs on, but not limited to electrical hydraulic systems; and component replacement and repairs on, but not limited to: dippers, handles, swing, propel, crowd and hoist transmissions, hoist cables, GET (ground engaging tools), drill bits, drill pipes, hydraulic pumps and motors, engines, electric motors, gear boxes, compressors, auto lube systems, and hydraulic valves and hoses.

Diagnoses mechanical problems, prioritizes and makes decisions regarding equipment repair as needed reviews emergency break down orders to verify accuracy of repair parts required.

Directs Dealers/Customers maintenance crews on how to provide mechanical repairs and lubrication for preventative maintenance.

Handles warranty repair issues with customers, spear heads product issues with other techs as needed.

Ability to converse over telephone to trouble shoot a piece of equipment.

 

Must understand and follow MSHA safety requirements.

This is a Salaried position with excellent Benefits and OT Pay.

Qualifications

Our client is looking for at least 5 years of Experience.

   

  • Must have strong knowledge of construction equipment including skid-loaders, backhoes and excavators and their attachments or Drilling Equipment
  • Must familiar with mobile hydraulic circuits, components and troubleshooting. 
  • Ability to direct and work with other team members
  • Must be organized
  • Must have high attention to detail
  • Able to multi-task quickly
  • Ability to assess field installation issues and recommend corrective actions
  • Must be able to successfully communicate and create confidence with customer base
  • Must be able to process Warranty consideration quickly and effectively
