Position Details & Responsibilities

Assist and support with the strategic direction of the organization and the division, working together to increase customer satisfaction, profitability and market dominance, with special emphasis on the support of mining technology products such as MineStar, CAES and Aquila.

Primary:

• Install and calibrate new on-board system hardware and software, including registration and commissioning of Technology Product systems. Specializing in Aquila Drill and CAES systems.

• Diagnose, maintain and support on-board and infrastructure hardware, including support of GPS receivers, off-board and on-board radios.

• Work with new users and staff (operators and office personnel) on current and updated product (including on-site troubleshooting and maintenance).

• Distribute and install software upgrades to the office and on-board systems including firmware updates to GPS receivers and radios.

• Provide warranty support repairs and insuring service reports and all pertinent repair information is provided to maximize warranty claim recovery.

• Provide customer support as outlined in any Technology Support Agreements assigned.

Secondary:

• Work varying shifts as business needs arise.

• Support others in the Technical Services Department (such as Service Trainers or Technical Communicators) who may need assistance from time to time.

Performance Standards:

• Provide accurate, timely and complete product resolution as it may relate to servicing, or maintaining the technology product.

• Effectively participates as part of team, assisting where appropriate and requesting assistance when needed.

• Achieves customer focus by delivering high quality, cost effective service.

Qualifications

Minimum of two (2) years experience or equivalent formal education in mining applications.

Technical Training:

• Technical experience with electrical troubleshooting, as well as mechanical systems.

• Ability to interact effectively in multi-disciplined, multi-cultural team environment consisting of Mining Engineers, Planning, Operations, Maintenance management and company parts, service and sales personnel.

• Knowledge of common computer software applications, including some experience with CAD based design software, PC networking and troubleshooting.

Physical / Mental Abilities:

• Professional attitude and appearance consistent with position and responsibilities.

• Self-motivated and detail oriented; work with minimum supervision.

• Stand/walk 1-4 hours a day, and/or sit 5-6 hours a day.

• Occasionally/frequently lift 50 lbs.

• Must use hands for repetitive simple grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation.

• Must be able to bend, squat and climb, including the ability to ascend and descend ladders.

• Must use feet for repetitive movement when operating equipment controls.

• Must have agility and balance to safely climb on all machines.

Work Environment:

• Office/ inside.

• Frequent exposure to shop/warehouse/outside environment.

• Frequent exposure to heavy equipment including climbing on machines, installing hardware, troubleshooting on-board hardware and software issues.

• Field environment with exposure to adverse weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain, dust, dirt and noise.

• Valid Nevada Drivers License with an acceptable driving record.

• Frequent travel and overnight stays.

Education

• High School and 1 or 2 years technical college course load.

• Ability to read and understand materials commonly used in the job function.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Courses in basic electrical/instrumentation and technical writing/presentations.

This position will re-establish, qualify, and maintain contact with small to medium sized customers with the purpose of increasing sales of parts and service solutions. Direct contact using the telephone, mail and other promotional campaigns will be utilized with assigned accounts. Customers span all industry types (e.g., agriculture, heavy construction, compact construction, forestry, power systems, etc.). Some customers do not have Caterpillar equipment, but they can still benefit from Dealer services and offerings.

Responsibilities
• Manage an account base of 1,000 plus customers using the telephone as the primary tool.
• Make a minimum of 120 calls per week
• Maintain accurate customer information in the database. Update as needed.
• Sell parts, services, labor and Customer Support Agreements.
• Assist walk-in customers. Transfer other leads to the appropriate department.
• Using the “needs analysis” process, develop customer needs and provide solutions for them.
• Understand current merchandising programs and promotions.
• Develop a strong positive relationship with customers. Meet and exceed customer expectations
• Utilize software and online tools to create and maintain accurate records of customer calls, customer files and sales activity.
• Prepare reports as required
• Attend all scheduled meetings, functions and other mandatory training classes
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of operations and applications for CAT and Allied products.

• Knowledgeable of CAT and competitive equipments model designations and applications.

• Comprehension of equipment specifications and catalogs.

• Basic math skills

• Read, write and speak English fluently.

• Ability to interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals.

• Excellent communication with department staff and entire organization.

• Strong initiative

• Ability to multi task and stay on top of job

• Excellent customer service skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

• Develop proficiency in CRM, DBS and Infocast system.

Physical Requirements
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, but the position may also require standing for long periods of time, walking over uneven surfaces, climbing, balancing, and lifting up to 75lbs. Hearing adequate to understand normal telephone and conversation volumes is required, and eyesight adequate for reading business documents, computer screens, and print outs from standard office equipment is also necessary

Education
