Position Details & Responsibilities

• Schedule all service work and assign to the technicians. Work with service writer to oversee work to ensure satisfaction for the customers.
• Advise customers of repairs and estimated cost of repairs.
• Charge out all service tickets, customer, internal and warranty in a timely, profitable manner.
• Work with customers to resolve any complaints.
• Work with sales staff on prompt and cost-effective reconditioning of used equipment.
• Assist technicians when need.
• Control expenses of the service department while maintaining productive services for our customers.
• Follow a sales and operating budget and work with GM to achieve goals.
• Control nonproductive time, breaks, protected time off, sick leave, and personal leave.
• Perform other duties as requested by the General Manager and assist other department personnel to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Keep WIP (work in progress) to a level directed by GM
• Review revenue performance of the department daily.
• Keep SLA-Rework hours to a minimum.
• Review work orders in a timely manner to allow for appropriate billing.
• Directly supervises shop foreman, technicians, and service clerk in the service department.

Qualifications

Seven to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

Dakota Farm Equipment has been proud to service the agricultural needs in this part of the state. We look forward to serving North Dakota and its' neighboring states well into the future.

Dakota Farm Equipment is looking for experienced technicians to fill positions at two locations; Beach ND and Dickinson ND. The candidates should have the following attributes:

Independently performs basic/complex diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural equipment/outdoor power equipment.
Essential Duties:

1. Performs basic/complex agricultural equipment/outdoor power equipment diagnostics and determines what repairs are needed, if required.

2. Performs basic/complex agricultural equipment/outdoor power equipment repairs as requested by the Service Manager/Shop Foreman.

3. Participates in all job-related training and development.

4. Prepares all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.

5. Maintains current product knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.

6. Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment.

7. Mentors Service Technician Apprentices and junior Service Technicians.

Qualifications

• Proven knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in the repair of outdoor power equipment/agricultural equipment.

• Outstanding knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

• Excellent skills in operating vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.

• Ability to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

• Manage position technology team and ensure that BMC is the leader in technology sales and support.

• Represent BMC when promoting the functionality and efficiency of utilizing GPS Products as they are sold to BMC’s traditional contractor and Ag markets and to develop new applications.

• Demonstrate GPS equipment to the customer via coordinated machine and equipment demonstrations.

• Coordinate demonstrations at customer sites to actively promote GPS capability to potential buyers.

• Train customers on the operation of GPS equipment.

• Resolve customer problems in a timely manner.

• Create a standardized implementation process for GPS installation.

• Work with BMC sales team to educate them on features of GPS technology.

• Supervises staff both in the GPS Technology and the E-Business/Contract Tracking areas. Conducts performance reviews and handles employee relations items.

• Communicate with manufacturer regarding common failure causes and information related to product life.

• Provide input for marketing and advertising campaigns for the year.

• Provide Classroom Training regarding Position Technology.

• Network with technical colleges and tate agencies to actively promote GPS products at the Point(s) of exposure.

• Organize and supervise all equipment/components for the region. Work to increase efficiency in warranty and repair issues.

• Work with area civil engineers to obtain CAD files for construction projects.

• Identify and promote new technologies that benefit BMC customers.

• Work closely with heavy equipment sales team to identify sales opportunities.

• Generate and set pricing.

Qualifications

• Two year technical school minimum and Engineering background preferred but not required.

• Knowledge of and experience with GPS equipment.

• Knowledge of machine control products and abilities.

• Experience working with wireless technologies.

• Knowledge of survey principles, concepts and operations.

• Experience building 3D models preferred.

• In-depth experience working with computers, operating systems and installing/uninstalling software.

• Experience problem-solving technical issues.

• Ability to speak in front of people – gives presentations, explain technology issues and train new customers in a classroom setting.

• Proficient with MS Office Suite Software (Excel, Word, Access, Internet, etc)

• Able (and qualified) to drive BMC provided vehicle

• Ability to operate heavy construction and agricultural equipment for the purpose of demonstration and training.

• Ability to travel.

Education

• Two year technical school minimum and Engineering background preferred but not required.
