Fabick CAT is currently seeking a qualified and experienced Resident Field – Technician in the West Plains Missouri area. As a Resident Field Technician, one schedules and coordinates service schedule on their own, performs a variety of services on heavy equipment on customer sites and reporting into the assigned store location (Springfield, Missouri) as directed.
The ideal candidate must live in or around the West Plains area. Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. The following may be expected to be encountered: long periods of standing, exposure to seasonal heat and cold, working with oils and greases, noise, shift work as needed - 1st and 2nd, working outside, stooping, bending, squatting, or working in a prone position.Qualifications
• A minimum of 5 years experience in diagnosing equipment utilizing laptop computers, gauges, and instruments in all machine systems: electronics, hydraulics, power train, engines, and general machine performance is expected. Preferably in the field.
• 5 years of experience with repairing heavy equipment, systems, engines and components in the field is required.
• Occasional use of basic welding equipment may be required.
• Ability to operate in a fast paced environment that requires multitasking while maintaining a high level of organization.
• Experience with Caterpillar equipment (or its equivalent) systems: hydraulics, engines, power train, 12 volt and 24 volt electrical systems and the ability to troubleshoot and repair these systems is required.
• Proficiency with computers and aspects of Microsoft office desired.Education
• High school education or GED equivalent, Technical, Vocational, or Trade School education is also required. Prefer Associates of Science Degree in Diesel Technology.
