Herk & Associates is recruiting a Regional Maintenance Manager for a national leader in commercial truck leasing/rental/logistics/transportation company. This position will be remote-based from Texas, with preference to those in Houston, Midland/Odessa, San Angelo, Dallas, or Austin areas.

Position Overview: This is a one position classification reporting to the Director of Maintenance. The Regional Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall maintenance program for assigned area/region. This involves professional close working relationships with all team departments/team members on all levels, customers, and vendors. Employee will have independent discretion in judgment. This person is subject to calls when off duty to respond to emergencies and requires flexibility for occasional night, weekend and holiday work when needed. 

Responsibilities for functions related to the maintenance facility (including all personnel) include, but are not limited to:

  • Manages all aspects of administration paper work that pertain to facility
  • Plans, schedules and supervises all aspects of the work assigned to maintenance personnel
  • Manages all aspects of equipment/fleet preventative maintenance and state and federal compliances
  • Management and all aspects of the parts department costs and budget
  • All aspects of fuel island, wash rack, shops waste, disposal control and management
  • All aspects of facility maintenance and repairs
  • All aspects of customer service with highest level
  • Provide a safe working environment across total facility, grounds and equipment
  • Management, awareness and all aspects of costs and budget control including labor
  • Schedules and conducts monthly and regular safety and shop meeting
  • All aspects of proper staffing levels, interviewing and collaboration with supervisor and HR for hiring

Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years experience in transportation, trucking, leasing, or related industry preferred
  • 5+ years experience in a formal operations role required 
  • Related technical background preferred
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
  • Strong administration skills
  • Familiarity with business software such as Microsoft Office
  • A high level of business ethics and confidentiality
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills
  • The flexibility and willingness to learn
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • The ability to work accurately, with attention to detail
