Position Details & Responsibilities

Herk & Associates is recruiting a Service Manager for a highly reputable Construction Equipment Dealership in Butler County, PA, just north of Pittsburgh.

Purpose: Responsible for ensuring services are meeting the business needs and are accountable for customer satisfaction both internal and external. Increasing service sales along with improving processes and engaging the service team.

Essential Functions: 

  • Supervise in shop service and repair of machines and equipment
  • Provide direction and leadership required to achieve professional technical services at profitability and quality standards
  • Oversee field service and repair of machines and equipment
  • Manage branch maintenance and repairs, housekeeping and security
  • Ensure new and used equipment are prepared properly
  • Develop and schedule sales and expense budgets
  • Forecast capital expenditures to maintain various departments and assist in improvements
  • Develop service objectives
  • Training all service employees
  • Professional development of department employees
  • Conduct service meetings and training sessions to communicate company objectives and policies, to develop technical skills and to encourage employee participation and personal growth.
  • Continually monitor the progress of the department, and that of individuals in the service group, toward the quality and profit goals.
  • Conducts meetings with the service group to discuss performance, standards and goals
  • Perform various administrative duties
  • Comply with all safety procedures
  • Schedule maintenance for industrial machines and equipment, and keep equipment service records
  • Effectively communicate and actively participate within a goal-orientated team environment
  • Actively participate in problem solving and continuous improvement activities

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Experience in Heavy Equipment or related industry
  • 2+ years experience supervising teams/direct reports
  • Two-year Associates Degree from college or technical school in Heavy Equipment repair (or 5 years of relevant experience or training)
  • Or, equivalent combination of education and experience
