Position Details & Responsibilities

Flint Power Systems is the authorized distributor of John Deere engines for the Southeast - including North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, the eastern two-thirds of Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, and the Caribbean.
 

The VP and General Manager is responsible for the development and achievement of the organization and division’s business plan and meeting the expectations of all stakeholders - owners, customers, and employees.   To provide organizational leadership in the areas of physical assets, employees, business processes, and financial resources.  To provide a work environment that will optimize the profitable growth of the business, the personal growth of employees, and the satisfaction of customers.

Department:                Power Systems Division 

Reports to:                  President

Supervises:                 Power Systems Employees

  

Essential Functions:

  1. Develops and communicates the organization’s values, vision, and mission
  2. Develops and executes the organization’s business and marketing plan
  3. Leads the division operations including the identification, development, and implementation of sound business practices and processes 
  4. Provides guidance to the management team in making business decisions
  5. Ensures appropriate communications to the management team and the entire organization
  6. Oversees the evaluation, allocation, and management of physical assets, employment decisions, and financial resources to fulfill the stakeholders’ expectations 
  7. Sets the financial direction for the organization utilizing annual budgets and ensures financial stability through audits and internal controls 
  8. Ensures the dealership’s reputation and image in the community is consistent with the organization’s values, vision, and mission
  9. Leads and manages on-going relationships with key personnel and other suppliers 
  10. Manages recruiting, staffing and employee development activities for employees reporting to this position

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience managing operations, marketing and support in a diesel engine and powertrain component distributorship environment
  • Experience in Electrification of Powertrain systems and in Generator business a plus
  • Engineering experience a plus
  • Must be a self-starter and have ability to analyze financial performance, manage inventory planning, oversee a production team and sales team, and interface with engine manufacturer
  • Familiar with the industry, John Deere and competitive products
  • Ability to lead and motivate others
  • Solid analytical, business planning, problem solving, communication, motivational and inter-personal people skills and process driven mentality
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
