FORESTRY SALES MANAGER

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is focused on managing the sales function for the Forestry segment of the dealership including the implementation of defined sales processes, managing Forestry customer relationships, coaching, and developing Forestry sales professionals.   This position is responsible for all Forestry sales metrics for the dealership and is expected to hire, retain, and effectively engage applicable department personnel to grow the Forestry segment of the business.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties (other duties may be assigned)

  1. Manages and coaches Forestry sales professionals to implement sales processes
  2. Creates development plans for Forestry sales professionals and identifies training needs
  3. Develops and executes the Forestry Sales Department metrics and goals
  4. Implements a consistent sales process that drives optimal financial, market and customer performance
  5. Ensures the sales document process is established and followed by all Forestry sales team members
  6. Creates and executes an effective Forestry whole goods marketing strategy
  7. Manages new Forestry complete goods inventory which includes maintaining proper inventory levels and order program utilization
  8. Identifies and executes best practices throughout the sales department
  9. Develops and implements incentives plans for sales team and customers
  10. Develops the Sales Department business plan and reviews progress regularly
  11. Works with Parts and Service Managers or the Corporate Product Support Manager to promote customer satisfaction
  12. Manages recruiting, staffing and employee development activities related to the Forestry segment
  13. Works with the Corporate Used Equipment Manager to manage used equipment processes and inventory

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or relevant work experience in Sales management
  • Proficiency in the use and analysis of data to formulate effective strategies
  • Ability to teach and coach sales professionals on selling techniques and sales processes
  • Familiarity with Forestry product lines
  • Effective communication skills in individual and group settings
  • Excellent understanding of financial principles relative to Sales department operations
  • High competence in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing competitive environment
  • CRM experience a plus
