Position Details & Responsibilities

Bobcat of Rhode Island- Dealer Branch Manager

This position is to serve as the leader of the daily operations and activities in a dealership and reports directly to the Dealer Principal. Experience in construction equipment management and or construction equipment sales and  rental required.

  • Management Skills:   
  • Able to assist MGT with action plans to deliver the dealership’s annual goals and plan.
  • An effective delegator of tasks and responsibilities.

  • Execute well-defined and accurate performance evaluations
  • Recognize and comply with State and Federal environmental and safety regulations (OSHA, MSHA, EPA, etc.)
  • Promotes and enforces company policies
  • Promotes and ensures a safe, clean, productive and fair work environment.
  • Periodically audits the facility, perimeter areas and the company vehicles to ensure that all are in compliance and that there are no potential safety issues.
  • Periodically audits all components of the dealership’s safety policies and procedures to ensure full compliance.
  • Promotes teamwork between departments and throughout the organization.
  • Customer Relations
  • Skilled and experienced in customer relationship management and retention
  • Awareness of customer base and unique applications
  • Identifies the changing needs of the customer base and is able to understand and react to their needs
  • Identifies new revenue opportunities and implements any applicable changes and action plans.
  • Skilled at negotiating solutions that satisfy the customer and the best interests of the dealership(s).
  • Good conflict resolution skills

         Sales Knowledge:

  • Should have knowledge and ability to effectively handle sales calls over phone and walk in business.
  • Communicate effectively with sales team and gathers all pertinent info needed when handling sales calls.
  • Works well with sales department handles ordering of equipment, invoicing of all sales related items, and is in direct charge of inventory control of whole goods.



  • Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Demonstrates proficiency in running reports and queries in the dealership’s business system.
  • Efficient and responsible use of email and a time planning or management system (Outlook, Covey, etc.)
  • Organized electronic filing system
  • Proficiency with OEM information systems
  • Product Knowledge
  • Should have successfully completed all applicable manufacturer on-line product courses.
  • Should be able to present to others a brief overview of the safety and operational guidelines and instructions.
  • Has a good understanding of the product maintenance requirements and typical repairs to audit service job orders.


  • The Branch Manager is the keeper of the store and is responsible for all employees and actions of the store. It is his or her responsibility to ensure all departments are working together, and the best interest of the company is always foremost on his or her mind. The Branch Manager communicates to upper Management and keeps them informed of any customer or employee issues or concerns.
