Position Details & Responsibilities

Mission Statements:

Capital Equipment:  Develop and grow Cate Equipment’s market for all construction related product lines for the Idaho market by building and fostering strong customer relationships, focused on Value and Relationship sales.  

Rental Sales:  Facilitate growth and competence of the Cate Idaho rental fleet through “value-added” face time with customers, aimed to grow our market by developing a competitive strategy through relationships and pricing, specific to the Idaho market.

 Primary Responsibilities/Sales:

  1. Manage all sales and rental activates in the defined territory, Grow defined Equipment lines, Consumables, and Allied Products, Including Parts and Service.
  2. Accountable for all sales/support/follow-up associated with customers within the defined territory; Account Management.
  3. Accountable for the full sales process, from discovering customer need, quote, follow-up, working with OEM District Sales, to lost sales analysis for improvement.
  4. Increase market and customer share of contracting, and construction segments as decided by the management team.
  5. Perform Territory Management of the market and make recommendations for placement of Cate resources to adequately cover customer base.
  6. Develop sales on a direct basis, including strategies to achieve growth.
  7. Develop and maintain positive relationships with established customers through close management of accounts and attention to their needs.
  8. Assess and define customer applications so that the correct product can be represented. Ensure integrity in the application of the products.
  9. Manage and participate actively in new machine startups.
  10. Collaborate with customers to find innovative solutions to product performance or reliability issues

 

Qualifications

This role requires a highly motivated, self-starter with a sales personality capable of managing external and internal relationships with an overall focus on building long-term customer relationships while seeking new growth opportunities. 

Education/Experience/Skills:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree required, or 10 years of related industry experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Strong interpersonal communication skills required.
  3. Strong computer skills required. (MS office suite, including SharePoint)
  4. Ability to quickly learn new information and apply it immediately.
  5. Knowledge of the Idaho territories and construction market a big plus.
  6. This position will require some overnight travel up to 30% including some weekends and holidays as needed to meet customer and company commitments.

Location preferred to be Pocatello, Idaho.  Surrounding areas will be considered

Cate Equipment is an independent distributor for multiple highway construction lines, including Mining and Industrial products.  We are headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah where we have been successfully growing and maintaining a high level of market share for over 80 years.
