Position Details & Responsibilities

About The Position:

Gulf Atlantic is seeking a highly self-motivated sales professional to promote and sell our diverse lines of parts and component equipment lines to customers in the aggregate/mining, concrete, utility, recycling, manufacturing, and other industries. These products include aeration equipment, conveyor components, dust collection parts & components, motors, variable frequency drives, polyurethane sheets, valves, crushing & screening parts and components, moisture control systems, vibratory equipment, and more.. 

 

Job Description Summary:

Sales Representative will be responsible for contacting Gulf Atlantic customers to increase parts and service sales and to build better ties with those customers to help improve sales and customer satisfaction with products provided.

Work with customers and factories to fulfill orders and make sure products are ordered and delivered to customers correctly and on a timely basis.

Positive outcome will be determined based on the customer contact rate and increased sales in both volume and total sales.

The sales rep will contact customers in any market segment served by the heavy equipment division.

Sales rep will manage an account base of about 2500 customers and will actively call those customers on a regular basis.

Some of the first year will be spent qualifying accounts and updating customer information but always our first goal is to increase parts and service sales by servicing the customers to the best of our ability.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

·         A minimum of 3 years of experience working in the Concrete/Mining or related industries

·         3 years industrial equipment sales experience

  • Proficient computer skills in Quickbooks and MS Office Applications.
  • Minimum High School Diploma plus advanced training in field work or sales preferred or minimum of Associates Degree with mechanical background.
  • Prior industry knowledge of the products along with a technical background of the products sold and serviced. 
  • Individual must be highly motivated, with superior communication and customer interaction skills along with good organizational skills.
  • Telephone sales experience or outside sales experience
  • Must have a strong sales orientation and have a mechanical aptitude.
  • Must have the ability to work independently while thriving in a team-based environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and have a team work ethic along with profient knowledge of heavy equipment processing applications and equipment.

Work Responsibilities Include:

  • Work with customers to provide quotations for products and services they require for their operational facilities.
  • Work with manufacturers to obtain pricing, availability, and delivery schedules.
  • Support warehouse operations by working closely with personnel to insure customer quotes, orders, and shipments are processed expeditiously and accurately. Complete all required transactions in the business computer system or by other methods as prescribed.
  • Fill orders from warehouse stock for same day shipment to customers.
  • Create estimates, sales orders, and purchase orders using Quickbooks.
  • Following up on quotes issued to be sure quotes are received by customers and use sales strategies to close the order with the customer.
  • Follow up with manufacturers to be sure orders are received and timely processed.
  • Contact customers to solicit additional business and be sure products provided meet customer`s expectations.
  • Communicate with suppliers, subcontractors, and company internal personnel to solve problems and insure timely completion of product and service orders and deliveries.
  • Assist with periodic warehouse inventory.
  • Transport parts/deliveries to customers using company truck & trailer when required.
  • Assist sales manager and sales staff with on-site customer site visits.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
