Position Details & Responsibilities

REPORTS TO: General Manager of Operations

AUTHORITY: The Store Manager is appointed by and derives his authority from the General Manager of Operations. The Branch Manager is responsible for the daily operation of a profit center dedicated to meeting the equipment rental and supply/merchandise needs of contractor companies, industrial and commercial companies, and homeowners.

The Store Manager is delegated full authority to conduct the day to day functions of his Branch Facility. The Store Manager is delegated sufficient authority to carry out the responsibilities assigned to him by the policies, procedures and guidelines set down by senior management.
The Store Manager has a purchase requisition authority of $1000.00.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This is a salaried position and requires an average of 50 hours per week. The work schedule may also include working Saturdays. 

Manage overall branch operations to ensure productivity, customer service and profitability 

Oversee sales efforts and business initiatives

Prepare reports, including profit and loss statements, monthly operating reviews, yearly budgets and other reports detailing operational status

Manage personnel matters

Oversee all safety matters, including audits, safety training, OSHA compliance, DOT regulations and drug and alcohol testing,

Orders equipment and merchandise as needed

Has a thorough understanding of the construction phases involved in civil and commercial projects.

Mechanical aptitude is needed to assist in problem solving and managing this business.

Every effort should be made to have proficient skills in operating the various equipment in the rental fleet, along with practical application knowledge.

 

 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred

Minimum 5 years of successful business management experience with profit and loss responsibility at a branch or other individual profit center

Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience

Strong sales and customer service experience

Knowledge and experience in the equipment rental industry preferred

An understanding of business accounting principles and budget preparation

Computer skills, particularly Excel skills

Effective leadership and motivational skills

Strong organizational and communication skills

Multi-tasking capabilities
