Position Details & Responsibilities

The Regional Manager is an experienced individual who generates significant impact through strategic and practical leadership.  The ideal candidate possesses proven leadership skills as well as a strong ability to problem-solve and make sound decisions that encourages corporate growth. The Regional Manager leads sales, operations, and fleet management for Excavator Rental Services with 6 locations in the Region.  Excavator Rental Services rents and sells heavy construction equipment and contractor equipment to construction contractors located mainly in Oregon & Washington.  Excavator Rental Services was one of INC 5000’s fastest growing private businesses in 2016 & 2017. Responsibilities include establishing and maintaining operations that support the strategic objectives of customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, and asset management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

General Duties:

  • Profit and loss responsibilities for all branches in their respective region
  • Employee engagement that results in positive relationship and employee satisfaction
  • Lead sales to grow customer base and market share
  • Fleet management including identifying needs, high levels of utilization, and protection of assets as well as overseeing the service and maintenance of the equipment
  • Problem-solving for both strategic and tactical issues
  • Foster and promote a strong safety culture
  • Maintain and improve competitive position by analysis of market and knowledge of competitors
  • Ensure cost-effectiveness of all operations while maintaining high-quality standards using process improvement tools
  • Create and execute company-wide business development strategies
  • Actively participates in designated industry associations/trade groups
  • Develop a high-performance team through accountability, training, coaching, and mentoring
  • Strategic planning and execution to enhance profitability, productivity, and efficiency throughout the region’s operations
  • Interact regularly with executive team and individual department heads to ensure that region’s operational priorities are aligned with total company direction
  • Continually investigate and introduce process improvement measures and present suggestions to executive team for consideration
  • Participate in vendor negotiations to ensure product relevance and cost-efficiency
  • Participate in long-term business planning at the managerial and executive level
  • Collaborate with branch and department management to develop financial plans
  • Analyze the performance of suppliers and make recommendations for improvement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (required)  
  • Master’s degree (preferred)
  • 10+ years’ experience in a leadership role
  • Equipment rental industry experience is a plus
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
